What's THIS?!

In November of 1999, Blair Chitwood, Stage Manager for the 2000 Purple Side, wrote to a few old purples, asking if they might be interested in keeping up to date on PV info. A few of us said something like, "Sure, that'd be cool. Just don't bug me with it" (at least that's what I said), and viola (as they say in Mayberry) the PV Club began.

In case you're an old Purple yourself, here's most of what his letter said:

I never know how to approach this subject with Old Purples I've never met before, because once or twice I've gotten a negative response about College Night in general, and I don't want to make anybody ill. If you don't want to have anything to do with this, let me know, and you're off the list immediately.

So, "Blair," what exactly is "this"?

Well, basically, Amanda & DeVon (Leaders my Freshman Year) instilled in us/me how wonderful and important Old Purples are, something which has always proven true.

In the interest of that, I've thought now and then that it would be a cool idea to have an organization/club for Old Purples ("Old Purples Club" or "Purple Alumni Association," something like that), so that we can all keep in touch (if we so desire), and also so that current and even Baby Purples can have knowledge and even contact with their predecessors and their history.

So, basically, let me know if you're interested in being involved with this and to what degree (Say, for instance, would you rather A: drop us a line now and then to say "hi" and "PV!"? or B: Is it okay if a Baby called you up for inspiration/advice?), and the addresses of any other Old Purples you think might be interested. If you send me any new addresses, please send their name and any identifying characteristic you might remember (Cabinet position, years, anything).

My e-mail is PVphantom@hotmail.com
My phone number is [Heh. Didn't think I'd leave that in there, didja?]

Some of my best times and memories have been with the Purple Side. I don't want that to end when I leave Montevallo. If you feel the same, let me know.

Thanks & PV Love,
Blair

Now I ask you, who could resist such a sweetie?

So, the site is here. There's some information about College Night, a few of the old songs and such, and a bulletin board where you can "talk amongst yourselves."

And oh yeah, my name's Lee Griner (Script 1984). I put this little web site together with Blair's help. I may not be the oldest or the purplest, but I got me an E-mail AD-dress and all, so I figgered what the heck. After all, PV could mean Purple Veterans, you know.
